I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
